PROFESSIONAL RESUME

​

John W. Wells, III, PE is a licensed Mechanical Engineer in the state of Florida and President of Consulting Engineering Associates, Inc.  Mr. Wells has served on ASHRAE, an international engineering technical society organized to advance the art of HVAC, on the chapter level for over fifteen years.  At the Society level, Mr. Wells served on the Handbook committee for eight years.

His engineering experience includes design of mechanical systems for all types of government buildings, manufacturing facilities, libraries, schools, commercial ventures, health care, residential and other types of facilities ranging in value from thousands of dollars to multi-million dollar projects.   He became a LEED Accredited Professional in September of 2006, and has provided Commissioning, both Fundamental and Enhanced, and LEED Administration Consulting, for multiple projects.

PROJECT RESPONSIBILITIES

As Principal in Charge, Mr. Wells participates in all aspects of every project.  He corresponds with the Owner/Client to understand the project scope of work; many times before a project is even an official project.  Mr. Wells then develops a proposal for CEA's professional services, highlighting CEA's understanding of how the Owner/Client wishes to utilize the services of CEA and the scope of the project. He oversees all Project Managers. He reviews Design Development drawings, interim drawings, and then the final Construction Documents prior to them being released from the office, utilizing a checklist drawn straight from Florida Statutes and ASHRAE.  He signs and seals all documents released for public use and record.  Mr. Wells is also extremely active in construction phase administration, performing many Substantial and Final Completion Project Site Walkthroughs.
